Are you wondering “Is it normal to…?” or “Is it weird that my partner wants…?” but are too afraid to ask? Are you wrestling with feelings of shame, guilt, or embarrassment? Or maybe you’re feeling disconnected – from your partner or even from your own body? Like your brain has this agenda, but your body is refusing to cooperate? Or perhaps the constant chatter in your head is throwing a wrench into experiencing the sex life you truly want?

Well, welcome! As my client, you can expect a therapist who is warm, approachable and insightful. Many have described me as “easy to open up to” – I think it has something to do with my informal tone, quirky sense of humour and complete lack of judgement. Seriously, the weirder, the better!  You can bring your true self to therapy, no filter or masking required. Together, let’s explore what’s going on for you, gain some insight and use evidence-based tools to tackle whatever’s standing in the way of your best life.

My toolkit includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). To be honest, most of my career has been spent working in a public health sexual health clinic. While the clinic’s goals were to prevent the spread of STIs, I was drawn to the psychological and social aspects of sexual health. I loved when someone came in for STI testing feeling nervous and maybe ashamed, but then (after being validated rather than judged) left laughing and saying “That was surprisingly fun!” Eventually, I decided to be brave and made the switch to psychotherapy where I can fully focus on what truly lights me up: helping people feel seen, heard and valued.

Outside the clinic, I live in Kingston with my wife and our son. I am obsessed with nature and love hiking, trail running and backcountry canoe camping. I have been known to hug the occasional tree…
