So, you’re experiencing difficulties with sex. Maybe you are struggling with a desire/libido discrepancy in your relationship, experiencing painful sex, or having difficulties with orgasm. You may feel alone, like your sex-life is helpless, or not worth prioritizing. You are not alone and things can look different!

Sex can be challenging to talk about and it can be difficult to find reliable information- what website should I turn to? What book should I read? What advice should I follow? I’m here to filter through the most up-to-date research in evidence-base sex therapy and provide you with a tailored approach.  In our session, my goal is for you to feel heard, accepted, and provided with tools to help with sex and relationships.  I use humour and curiosity in a compassionate way and am a fan of analogies!

My introduction to sex therapy and sex research began well-over a decade ago during my studies at Queen’s University. From there, my career led me to community-based mental health work for almost a decade before returning to complete a Master’s in Social Work and shortly after joining the Tri Health Clinic. My educational background allows me to look at clients from different lenses, understanding both how their neurobiology works while also caring for the human being in its environment and the impact of social determinants of health. I have a passion for continued education and see the value in staying current in the newest research, resources, and technology.

At the Tri Health Clinic, I get to work with couples and individuals on a variety of sexual health concerns.  I rely heavily on mindfulness-based therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I enjoy working in a setting where research informs my daily clinical practice.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy cooking, spending time outdoors with my dogs, and sewing clothes (you’ll likely see me wearing something I made). I’m also the office plant lady- our plants or thriving but I have no idea how!
